On arrival at Couples Tower Isle, we were met by a friendly security who got us inside the hotel lobby very quickly where we were then welcomed by the bellhop, Jermaine, who made us feel as if we were coming back home. Parking was near.
My wife and I visited Couples Tower Isle maybe 10 years ago for a vacation and it was great to be back and experience the opulence of a hotel that has maintained its luxury brand image over time.
Playground to Hollywood celebrities in the 1950s, the glamorous Couples Tower Isle exudes a chic sophistication, perfectly balanced by a relaxed Jamaican sensuality.
The lobby was very stylish and open, with a clear view of the ocean. The staff was extremely accommodating and allowed us to check in early, at approximately 10 am. We got to the hotel super early and we couldn’t wait to enjoy its superb amenities; so early check-in for my wife and I was a big plus. We would definitely recommend early arrival to persons who want to maximize their hours at the property. Kudos to the staff for providing us with a rather smooth and exceptional check-in service, topped off with their offer of very refreshing welcome drinks.
The room was clean; the spacious bed was comfortable; and we enjoyed the wide selection of cable channels that were available. The air conditioning was cold and quiet. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel, but for those with Digicel service, there were several dead zones. Waking up to the sunrise was breathtaking; we therefore recommend you get an ocean view room.
I have stayed at dozens of hotels in Jamaica; but this was at the top of the list of Best Stays/Experiences ever. When it comes to relaxation and the quality and array of food, this property stood out as exceptional, complemented by a very hospitable cadre of staff that catered to all our needs. If you are looking for a high-energy type hotel, this is not the place for you, but if you want to unwind and relax, this is the perfect property to get away on your staycation.
All COVID-19 protocols were observed on arrival at the lobby of the dining areas. The staff wore their masks and sanitiser stations were located at strategic points on the property; from the elevator to the poolside.
I would highly recommend the Eight-River Restaurant where meals were a culinary delight and the atmosphere felt very luxurious. The four-course meal menu options boasted a wide range of items, including lobster bisque, rabbit and lamb chops.
Room service was speedy; we got food delivered in less than 30 minutes and the selection from the grill was great. We ordered jerked chicken served with corn on the cob with coleslaw on the side and shrimp Caesar salad.
The hotel occupancy level was just below 40 percent. This, however, did not affect the quality of the service and the atmosphere, as we experienced nothing short of 5-Star service at a 4-Star hotel.
